We are pleased to present Donald L. Stevens as our Driver of the Month for May!

Donald L. Stevens
Don Stevens came to Horizon Tank Lines in February of 1995 already having 17 years of driving experience under his belt. His experience and dedication are but two of Don's assets that resulted in his being named Horizon Tank Lines Driver of the Year for 1997!
Don began his early years in school in Frankfort, Germany, where his father served in the Armed Forces. His family then came back to the States living in Fort Meade, Maryland and Fort Benning, Georgia. Don finished High School at John T. Hoggard High in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Perhaps it was Don's having been raised in a military family that taught him methodology. We can depend on Don to move each load and treat each customer with uncommon courtesy. His manners speak volumes of professionalism. Heralding two of Don's awards are a Safe Driving Award for over 750,000 miles of accident-free driving, plus the Watkins Safety Award. These awards are a result of job focus that subsequently made him one of our Driver Trainers. He states that he continues to find a challenge in driving with every load. He says he gets a tremendous feeling of accomplishment when one load is delivered and he is on his way to pick up another.
Don and his wife, Nancy, live in Wilmington, North Carolina with two daughters, April and LaDonna. They belong to Hank's Chapel in Wilmington, where Don is on the Board of Ushers, and is Superintendent of Sunday school. He enjoys high performance cars, and dabbles in real estate. When asked what his most important accomplishment has been he said "Deciding to give my life to the Lord!"
