Horizon Welcomes Two New Unit Managers
Horizon Tank Lines welcomes two unit managers to our organization. Claudia Lewis is now handling operations in Charleston SC, coming to us with several years of experience in the chemical tank truck industry.
Jason Mavromat joins the team as Terminal Manager in our Savannah GA operation and has over four years of chemical tank truck management under his belt. We look forward to working with Claudia and Jason as they grow our operation in these two significant port markets.
David Tackett joins the Wilmington Terminal operation as master mechanic. David has over twenty years of experience in engine & truck maintenance as well as 6 years of experience in the Army and Air force.

General
Horizon Tank Lines, Inc.(HTL) is a privately held company wholly owned by Charles H. Collie, President and Paul H. Collie, Executive Vice President.
HTL was formed in 1994 due to the demand for a quality carrier in Wilmington, NC. The company began operations with 3 power units and 6 trailers. The owners have been involved in the transportation of hazardous materials for over 20 years. This experience has led to a positive and influential change in the Wilmington, NC and surrounding areas (please see coverage areas below). We have been very successful in hiring extremely professional drivers and have given each driver the necessary tools to satisfy each and every customer. Our driver base has an average of 11.33 years of chemical handling experience. Our current management team has over 50 years of transportation experience.

- Insurance coverage's of $5,000,000 single limit liability and $5,000,000 general liability and $100,000 cargo.
Operations
HTL continues to lead our area in Safety, Quality, and Service through its 38 company drivers and 15 owner operators. Each driver, including owner operators, go through extensive training and each is trained under HM 126f guidelines.
Management has hands-on experience and conducts the training along with a driver trainer.
All safety and training is conducted under the same guidelines required by the chemical manufacturers and chemical distributors in North America.
All employees are active participants in HTL's ongoing Quality Program.

Health Care
Employees are eligible for health care benefits after a 90 day probationary period of employment with the company.Horizon provides medical, dental and life insurance to all full time company employees at no cost to them. (Dependent coverages for these plans are available to our employees at low costs.)
Along with the basic plans offered, we have several voluntary plans available:
VSP – Vision Plan
GAP - A plan which helps cover regular deductibles of our health plan.
Extra Voluntary Life – a new program added in August 2006, allows an employee to purchase extra life insurance on themselves, their spouse and children.
Short Term Disability – a new program added in August 2006, which pays a percentage of your weekly salary for up to 11 weeks should you be out of work for medical reasons.
Long Term Disability – a new program added in August 2006, which pays a percentage of your monthly salary for up to 2 years should out of work for medical reasons.
These voluntary plans are offered at a low costs to our employees.
Vacation & Sick Leave

401 K Plan
The company has a 401K plan to help provide a comfortable solution for retirement.
Safety Bonus Plan
The company has a great Safety Bonus program. Bonuses are awarded quarterly for all drivers who meet the criteria. In addition, if a driver receives a bonus for each quarter of the year, an additional yearly bonus is awarded.
Referral Bonus Program
Our Referral Bonus Program is awarded to those drivers who refer new employees to Horizon. If a referral is hired, the driver will receive a bonus if the criteria is met.(This is only a brief summary of our company benefits. Information may be subject to change without notice.)
